Description
This course thoroughly covers the Calendar and Scheduling features of your Mail database. You will use the Calendar to keep track of your appointments and to schedule meetings.

The Free Time System and Group Calendar features allow you to check everyone's schedules so that everyone will be available for a meeting. You can reserve a room and other resources so that everything is in place when the meeting starts.

You will also learn to create a To Do list, and even include others in a group To Do so you can work on projects as a team.

Course Goals
  • In this course, you will learn how to:
  • use the Calendar to record appointments as well as schedule team meetings
  • learn how to change or cancel meetings, how to work with others to propose alternate meeting times, and how to delegate meeting attendance to other people
  • set alarms to alert you of upcoming appointments and meetings
  • build Group Calendars and use the Free Time System to check for free time in other peoples' schedules
  • reserve rooms and other resources in the Reservations database
  • define personal and group To Do's.

Intended Audience
This course is part of a series of courses. Follow these paths to master all aspects of using Lotus Notes:
Courses later in the series assume that you have mastered the content of earlier courses.
The
Basics
course is designed for individuals who have never used Notes but who can:
· start and stop software applications in Microsoft® Windows™
· use Microsoft Windows Explorer to find and organize files
· create, format, and print documents using a graphical word processing software package.

Course Overview
This course guides you as you experience the most widely used Notes features. It does not, however, delve into the details of how Notes works, how to develop applications, or administer Notes servers.
The procedures in this course are clearly outlined in step-by-step tables. You may find, however, that some procedures leave you hanging in a dialog box for you to figure out yourself. Take this time to investigate all the options, and when you are done, be sure to close the dialog box before continuing.
Feel free to experiment as you learn to navigate through Notes. You may just find a faster way to transform the way you work!
